Cannabis-Infused Fried Chicken
The other day, I had this brainwave (maybe it was the munchies talking)… what if I mixed fried chicken with weed? So, I experimented, and let me tell you, this weed-infused chicken is PERFECT… crispy, juicy, and totally next level!
Let’s get frying!
How to Make Cannabis Fried Chicken

Ingredients:
- 2 lbs chicken (drumsticks, wings, or thighs).
- 1 cup buttermilk.
- 1 tsp salt.
- 1 tsp black pepper.
- 1 tsp smoked paprika.
- 1 tsp garlic powder.
- 1 tsp onion powder.
- 2 cups all-purpose flour.
- 1 cup cornstarch.
- 1 tbsp baking powder.
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (or your favorite spice mix).
- 1/2 cup cannabis-infused oil.
- Neutral frying oil.
Tools:
- Large mixing bowls.
- Measuring cups and spoons.
- Deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot.
- Cooking thermometer.
- Tongs.
- Wire rack.
- Paper towels.
Instructions:
1. Get that chicken marinating: Mix buttermilk with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in a big bowl. Toss the chicken in there, makin’ sure every piece gets a good bath. Let it chill for at least 4 hours (overnight is even better for super juicy chicken).
2. Time for the coating: In another bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and Cajun seasoning. Take the chicken outta the marinade (let the extra drip off) and roll each piece in the mix. Press it on good so the coating sticks.
3. Heat up the oil: Get some neutral oil hot in a deep pot (about 350°F or 175°C). If you’re feeling extra fancy, add a little canna oil for a special touch (keep the heat low so the good stuff doesn’t go poof).
4. Fry that chicken: Carefully drop the coated chicken into the hot oil. Cook each piece for 12-15 minutes, or until they’re golden brown and cooked all the way through. Take them out and let ’em drain on a rack to get extra crispy (no need for paper towels!).
5. Infuse & enjoy: For an extra kick, drizzle some canna oil on the hot chicken before you dig in. Pair it with infused honey, THC ranch, or whatever dip your heart desires.
💡 Pro Tip: After frying, a drizzle of melted canna-butter adds a nice touch.

Tips For Better Cannabis-Infused Fried Chicken
Want to achieve the best results every time? These expert tips will help you create consistently crispy, flavorful, and properly dosed cannabis-infused fried chicken.
- Temp Check: Aim for around 350 degrees. Keeps the oil steady and your chicken from getting soggy or burnt.
- Double Dip for Crunch: Want extra crispy? Dip the chicken in the flour mix twice, and let it chill for a bit between dips.
- Rest Time: After you flour it, let it sit for 10-15 minutes. This helps the coating stick like glue and keeps it from falling off.
- Don’t Crowd the Pot: Fry in small batches. This keeps the oil hot and makes sure every piece gets perfectly crispy.
- Drizzle, Don’t Douse: For better control, drizzle the infused oil over the cooked chicken instead of frying it.

Serving Suggestions
1. You can never go wrong paring it with some fluffy biscuits or buttery cornbread.
2. Load up on mac & cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, or even some sweet potato fries.
3. If you’re into dipping, an infused hot honey drizzle, spicy THC-infused ranch, or homemade cannabis-infused bbq sauce will take it to the next level.
