How to Make Cannabis BBQ Sauce

Cannabis-infused BBQ Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tsp salt.
  • 1 cup ketchup.
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar.
  • 2 tbsp molasses.
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce.
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard.
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder.
  • 1 tsp onion powder.
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat).
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper.
  • 2 tbsp infused olive oil or THC infused honey.
  • 1 tbsp bourbon (optional).
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke (optional).
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (optional).

Tools:

  • Medium saucepan.
  • Wooden spoon or whisk.
  • Measuring cups.
  • Food thermometer.
  • Glass jar or airtight container.

Instructions:

1. Blend the basics: In saucepan over medium heat, mix ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Stir good until it’s smooth.

2. Spice things up: Add smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir around to get the flavors going.

3. Simmer it down: Lower the heat and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring now and then. This lets the flavors come together and thickens the sauce a bit.

4. Add the cannabis: Once the sauce cools a little (around 140-160°F so the THC doesn’t go bad), stir in your cannabis-infused oil or honey. Mix it all up real good.

5. Chill and enjoy: Take it off the heat and let it cool before putting it in an airtight container or jar. Store it in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Tips For Better Cannabis Barbecue Sauce

I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve to make sure your sauce is fire every time. It’s all about flavor, balance, and getting that perfect buzz. Check this out:

  • Control the Temperature: Keep your sauce below 160°F when adding the cannabis infusion to preserve potency.

  • Stir Thoroughly: Ensuring the cannabis infusion is well mixed prevents uneven dosing in your final dish.

  • Taste Test: Before you drizzle in the cannabis, give your sauce a taste and adjust the seasoning to how you like it.

  • Chill Out: Let the sauce hang out for a bit, maybe a few hours or even overnight. This really lets the flavors come together.

  • Get Creative: Try swapping out the infused honey for olive oil or butter. See how it changes the flavor and how thick or thin it gets.

  • Store Properly: Use a glass jar with an airtight lid to maintain freshness and prevent degradation
